Bottom Line:

Scala Bluetooth Rider interfaced seamlessly with my Zumo 550 and Motorola cellphone. It was easy to install on my Arai. Long, long battery life, even when listening to MP3's all day. Sound is good even at interstate speeds.

7000 Mile 2 week trip with the Scala

Pros:
All weather, Bluetooth
Cons:
Poor sound quality
Best Uses:
Everyday Riding, Long Trips, Street Riding
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I used the Scala with a Zumo Navigation system and a Blackberry Phone for a 15 day trip around the western U.S. this month. The system worked great with the navigation and with the phone. The Scala only has a single earpiece, so the mono sound is a little weak and tinny. This is tolerable with the navigation prompts and the phone. However, it is worthless to listen to Music from the MP3 player in the Zumo. I rode over 9 hours in driving rain one day, in a snowstorm and in weather down to 15 degrees and had no problems. The unit had enough charge to run 12-14 hours without any problems. With the exception of the desire for stereo sound and better sound quality, I would recommend this unit for anyone wanting a bluetooth headset.

I purchased this device simply to have the capacity to take phone calls when riding.. Didn't have terribly high expectations on its performance because of the obvious, wearing a helmet, riding at speed, wind noise etc etc.. I have been pleasantly surprised in this devices performance up to 60 miles per hour. The only thing callers think is that I am in my car with my window slightly down.. Awesome

Overall, the scala works great with my phone. It was easy to install, charge and use...and it has a lot of features. I have had some compatibility problems with my Garmin Zumo 550 GPS unit...but I'm not sure if it's a scala or GPS issue at this point. Either way, I would buy this product again and recommend it to others!

Awesome way to stay in touch

Pros:
Durable, Easy To Use
Best Uses:
Long Rides
Bottom Line:

Once I settled in and got used to the unit, it was great. Took a little getting used to but I can talk to people while cruising around town with no problems. Freeways are a bit noisy for them with the wind noise, but for that Emergency call coming in, it works just fine. I would recommend to everyone that rides.
