Seesm well constructed and fits well. Colour coding attachment points make fitting the lining a cinch without twisting the sleeves.

Actually, I give it a 4.5! Short of a down pour, this jacket is a must have. Doesn't make you look like a leather clone or wanna be racer. I wear this for sport touring on FJR1300. This jacket is great for spring, summer and fall. Very comfortable riding in 53 degree fall day and cool up to 80 w/o liner. Looks good if you order one size down. Full compliment of protection. I usually wear XL but have this in a large. Not too baggy w/o liner in. Well made jacket. You can wear this on cruiser, tourer or sport. Even I think I look good...that's all that matters.

This jacket is just excellent. I have leather, ballistic nylon, and other fabric jackets, all of which have their purposes. But, here in Texas, where it gets excruciatingly hot, there is nothing like this Cortech DSX denim jacket for comfort, breathability, and protection during the hottest months. Armored, stylish, comfortable. Need I say more?

Great alternative to leather
By Vulcan 500 riderVerified Reviewer from Albuquerque, NM on 7/31/2007
Pros:
Comfortable, Stylish, Well Insulated
Cons:
Too Heavy
Best Uses:
Long Rides, Safety
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a great alternative to leather. I ride a Vulcan 500 so I didn't want the "Harley wannabe look" or the "streetracer look". The armor is heavy, but looks like it would be very protective in a fall. With the removable liner in, it is a perfect fit, with it out the arms are a bit baggy, not it's fault, I have gangly arms. Th fit chart is very accurate, I ordered a medium by their chart and I'm glad I didn't order a large like I almost did. I haven't tried it in cold weather, but the liner seems like it would be quite warm. I was impressed that the denim was already "broken in" and already matched my other jeans. Also, I would bet nobody in town has one, I have never seen another one so you will be a rebel of sorts.
Also, with the shoulder armor it makes you look like a body builder, could come in handy!

I ordered one of these for myself. I was quite impressed by the features - it looked good, it fit well, it has a removeable lining, it has proper armor . . . and the price is CHEAP!

I liked the jacket so much I ordered another one for my son!

After having this for a while I cannot say enough about how great the venting system is! I will never go back to an un-vented jacket. I can wear this in very hot weather and be pretty comfortable while still enjoying the little peace of mind that comes with the armor. I would pay double for this jacket!

Great jacket. Lots of pockets, already broken in, soft, [$]!!! Hard to beat this bargain and its NOT a bargain jacket at all. I purchased the black and i like the look. Well vented and the removable armor is good. Nice change from leather or textile. Only gripe is there is a little TOO much stitching in the front of the jacket not making it look as clean as I'd like. But its a minimal issue.

I was pleasantly suprised with the quality of this jacket. It's comfortable right out of the box. Plenty of vents for hot weather, and a thick liner for winter. The armor is very light. You don't even know it's there. You're not getting anything this good any cheaper. I'd pay much more for this jacket.

I crashed (40-45mph)into a roadside ditch (with culverts) and this jacket held up beutifully. Gouges and scrapes etc. across my helmet, but no tears nor damage (other than grass stains!) to the jacket nor to me in any protected areas!

Very well made jacket. The liner is great for cold weather riding. Extra internal pockets come in handy. Waist cinches adjust the fit. Banded sleeves keep the wind out. Protective shields add great value in terms of protection. If you take out the shields, and the liner, the jacket can be worn casually around as well. Great value!

Love the fit, have not had time to put it through some tough wear but feel it will perform. Would really like to have Gortex liner to help with wind and wet weather.

I don't need to look like a racer so I bought this because I wanted protection with the look of a jean jacket. This is exactly what I wanted! I also live in the Northwest so the weather changes alot. I need to ride in cold & hot weather and the liner in this is warm & removable.
