Fit seems true to size. Knee pads seem to hang low, particulary when you're standing/walking. They're closer to or on the knee when sitting on the bike, but I wonder if they'll protect my knees or my shins in a fall. Either way, I guess they'll help. Plus, they're not bulky so people don't even realize there are pads until I tell them. I definitely like them more than my Joe Rocket Steel Jeans.
Compared to all the other pants I've seen, these pants seem to offer the most protection for the least cost. They're comfortable and fit true to size. some people complain about where the knee armor rests while your walking, but if it didn't hang below your knees walking, then it wouldn't line up with your knees when you were on your bike. All in all, I'd say these are a great deal, I might even buy a second pair.
I was surprised with the great fit. The pants fit (and look) like they came off the rack in a normal clothing store.
I like the leather lining, but hope I never need to try it out.
I don't know where Ben got the flat knee armor, but mine are rounded and fit great.
I wear the pants everytime I ride. If I expect to spend much time walking, I take out the knee armor. I don't like the feeling of the armor bouncing off my knees.
Seems like pretty good protection when leathers just aren't practical, such as commuting to work, etc. They're a bit on the heavy side to wear all day...cumbersome to pull out the knee protectors.
Knee pads slightly uncomfortable when walking but fine when riding.
I shopped and shopped for jeans that included armor and abrasion resistance. These seemed to fit the bill. I hoped they would be a good choice on and off the bike, but mostly they are good on the bike only. In a seated position, the knee armor is well placed. However, when you stand, the armor rides just below the knee cap, and the top of the armor bounces off the bottom of your knee cap, and it's pretty annoying as you walk. If you want to wear the jeans off the bike when you arrive, you need to remove the knee armor, and that requires removing the pants or dropping trow, neither of which is very convenient, nor socially acceptable. It's a shame, because these appeared to be the perfect choice otherwise. Possibly this is simply unavoidable, due to the need for the armor to be in place in a seated position. I do wonder, though, if you come off your bike in an accident, won't the armor drop below your knees anyway, so does it need to be on the knees in the riding position, or with your legs extended?
They do look good, they are heavy jean material, and their protective features are very good. You could remove the knee armor, and still have the heavy denim and "Rich Corinthian Leather" for abrasion resistance, but no impact protection for your knees. Recommended with caveats re: comfort off the bike.
The knee rubber protector slides too far to the side, away from the knee. Portion of knee thus "exposed". Is this by design? [...]Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with fit, quality of material and stitching.
Great pants and machine washable. Hang to dry - do not use dryer. The front button on mine broke but it was no big deal, the local shoe repair installed a new metal bachelor button for $2.
Good pants, even in very warm weather. They are a bit on the heavy side, but with the additional leather sections, they should be heavier. Overall very good purchase. My wife liked the looks of them that she also wanted a pair, but they don't come in ladies sizes/shapes, too bad.
The dsx pants are well made and i would be very happy with them but for the knee armer. The hard knee armer is too flat and not knee shaped. It is removable and i plan on finding some better fitting armer to swap in.
I have both Icon brand and Draggin brand jeans. The Cortech jeans are the ones I wear the most. The Icon jeans look good, but only have road rash protection for the knees. The Draggin jeans have good all round protection, but the material is thick, making them a cold weather only pant.
Plus, the removable CE armour for the knees makes the Cortech a very good value for the money.
Fits to size, comfortable, quality feel. These pants are a great option when you need protection but just can't go with true motorcycle pants. The leather lining in impact agres and the knee armor add peace of mind while the style and comfort of denim make them almost indistinguishable from regular jeans to all but the most observant people.
Got these and the quality of pant is excellent. The only problem was a bit to roomy in the leg. Get the Size you normally wear or (don't calculate shrinkage).
