Who\'s got your back? We at Icon like to think it\'s us. The market\'s full of various types of back protectors. Some are junk, some are pretty damn nice. But they all share a common theme, roadracing. Icon doesn\'t do roadracing, not that there\'s anything wrong with it, we just prefer the streets to get our swerve on. But we do like our backs, and our chests for that matter. Which is where the Field Armor Vest comes in. We took all the protection that your average back protector provides, increased it two-fold, and threw in some Icon style. The result is true upper torso protection for the urban environment. Try it on, check out the low-profile fit and the innate feeling of protection, and ask yourself again, Who\'s got your back?
BREATHABLE MESH CHASSIS
ELASTIC ADJUSTMENT STRAPS
IMPACT ABSORBING ARTICULATED BACK PLASTIC
LOW-PROFILE TO FIT UNDER MOST JACKETS
FORM-FITTING CHASSIS STAYS IN PLACE
ABRASION RESISTANT SLIDER PANELS
REINFORCED RUBBER CHEST ARMOR
IMPACT DISPERSING MOLDED FOAM

Excelent vest! I recently took a bad pavement dive at about 70mph wearing only this vest. I have road rash on my arms but my back is fine. It did its job and is ready to be worn again.

good to use under a jacket for extra protection. Also, better than just a t-shirt in the HOT phx heat.

It's done ,e very well so far and many people seem to like it! I have people buying it already because of me!, but it is very breathable and it lets you do any movement a t-shirt would let you do!!!

Good - fits well & easy to adjust
By Davey from Montreal, Quebec on 6/19/2007
Pros:
Comfy, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Low profile, Seems solid
Cons:
Hot in summer, Looks a bit funny
Best Uses:
Street
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Haven't tested its durability/protection (knock on wood) - and hopefully never do -
but it fits well & its low profile enough under my leather riding jacket (which is tight)
quality is decent & it LOOKS like it would protect well if need be (hard plastic plates)
since its a full vest it won't come off or move, but that makes its warm (and it looks like a bullet proof vest.....)

Fits nice, back coverage questionable
By revVerified Purchaser from Toronto, Canada on 12/19/2006
Pros:
Easy To Use, Snug fit
Best Uses:
Street

Everything fits very nice* and I like the quality of the product, I noticed it came in 2 sizes so I read up alot on which size to get. Now that I got the the "regular" and not the large I have to say, at just shy of 6 feet I think I needed the large as the back coverage isn't as complete as I'd like. Its 2-4" too low at the top and doesnt go down to the tail bone. That being said my wife quicky adopted ownership of my vest. I haven't tried the large yet, so I don't know how useful this information truly is.

Under armor
By Zyrix from Las Vegas on 9/20/2006
Pros:
Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Versatile
Best Uses:
Long Rides, Street

I just wear it under my clothing or jacket when riding around town as a precaution. Gives some peace of mind to know that my back is protected if a car decided to make road kill out of me.
